TORONTO, ON (Jan. 28, 2013)—Sheldon Neil was born in Canada’s national capital city – Ottawa, Ontario. Inspiring change, healing and hope through music is something Sheldon has done from a young age. He has extended his talents to the field of Broadcast Journalism with a Bachelor’s Degree from Ryerson University.

Sheldon is no stranger to television or radio. He has worked as a reporter for CBC News Windsor, production staff and on-air contributor on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, and he now works as a producer and on-air segment host on Context with Lorna Dueck, airing on Global TV.

Sheldon previously hosted and produced his own radio show, Outside the Box on CKLN FM. Sheldon is also a signed recording artist to Redeeming Music Label and will be releasing his début single in the near future.

With a passion for youth and youth initiatives, Sheldon has also played an active part in youth conferences, workshops and other events including: Y2K: Youth to the Kingdom Empowerment Weekend, UNITE T.O. and the Chosen Generation Youth Convention.

Alongside his group The Way, Sheldon will be performing in the upcoming Gospel Cafe presented by U CAN: United Christian Artists Network a networking event and mixer for artists and businesses in the GTA.

Sheldon recently spent time in Newtown, Connecticut reporting on the Sandy Hook shooting for Context with Lorna Dueck .

“My heart is with every family during such a hard moment,” says Neil. “May God be your strength.”

His latest project is his own online talk show The Word where he has held interviews with Amanda Lang, Gemini-award winning business journalist and co-host of The Lang & O’Leary Exchange and Valorie Burton, best-selling author, speaker and on-air contributor to the Dr. Oz Show, CNN and contributing writer to Oprah’s OWN.

Friends, family and supporters shared their congratulations with Sheldon this month on his recent engagement to long-time partner Alicia Dinnall.

“I am Engaged to THE most wonderful, strong, gifted, anointed, prosperous and jaw-dropping most beautiful woman ever to walk this planet,” says Sheldon. “Others chase beauty . . . But beauty chases her.”
